Quality Assurance Specialist

Located in Mansfield, Connecticut, we are looking for an experienced Software Quality Assurance Specialist. In this role you will be responsible for testing WinZip compression software and related services and products.

POSITION SUMMARY

The successful candidate will possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, be highly organized, self-motivated, able to follow directions and be detail oriented with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks while meeting deadlines.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Develop test plans, test cases and test checklists.
Verify the proper functioning of WinZip software on a variety of operating systems by following prepared checklists.
Perform compatibility testing of external products against WinZip software.
Review software documentation for ease of use and technical accuracy.
Assist Technical Support in duplicating/documenting reported issues.
Answer Technical e-mail messages, when needed.

REQUIREMENTS:

Solid understanding of Testing Methodologies and the software development process.
Experience with Windows Operating Systems (Windows 2000, XP, and Vista).
An aptitude for finding, investigating and isolating defects in software.
Experience using a defect tracking system to manage defects.
The ability to work with cross functional development teams to resolve feature/defect issues.
Detail oriented with strong problem solving skills.
Bachelor's Degree, or equivalent experience; preferably in a hi-tech environment coupled with 4+ years experience in a Quality Assurance role.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE

Experience with software testing automation tools.
Planning/creation/execution/maintenance of automation scripts.
Documenting/reporting of automation tests and test plans.
Reviewing design and requirement specifications to determine testing requirements.
Experience testing international translations.
Understanding of/Experience with compression technology.
